Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!

You shall love the LORD your Godwith all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart.

You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.

You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals o your forehead.

You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Aaron

Aaron is our creative child. He is talkative and intelligent. He loves learning. Anything. But mostly he loves learning about God. This of course is why he is so special. It is evident that God has something big planned for this child!

Week of November 5, 2007

This week Aaron is continuing his learning about the Israelite journey. He learned about the Golden calf. He is quite funny when he continuously asks, "Why do they keep making God angry?" I think it is cool that he is already picking up on the subtle things like that. He is already seeing the repetition of sin and how horrible and depraved we as sinners are.

Also this week, Aaron has been praying a lot for people in our own family who do not know God (his words, not mine). This is his thing, it just came up in his prayers and then we discussed it. The innocence of children still baffles me sometimes as he told me he did not understand how people could not go to church and love God. He said, "If you love God, don't you want to go and learn more about him?" Out of the mouth of babes!

Academically, Aaron learned counting by 5's this week and in money nickels. They are done with all phonograms and he will begin reading after Thanksgiving. In music they are studying the music of Jean Fredrick Handel. In geography they are continuing to learn all the states ands state capitals.

I praise God for the blessing of this school. God has always provided for us even though we are so unworthy of any gift from him. Aaron's teachers and principal and board are God seeking people who truly want these children to be full of the knowledge of Christ. The biblical learning is NUMBER 1 at this school as well it should be. They work hard to keep the world and popular culture out of the classrooms and I am at awe at the love they show these children. God is showing up at this school and you can see his hand in every part of this institution. Praise be to God alone!
