Well it has been awhile hasn't it. I hope that everyone is having a wonderful summer and really enjoying extra family time with the longer hours of daylight. I thought it was time to update and share news with you all.
John is in Guam and has been there since June 11th. He will be there until at least October. He is settling in again but of course really wants to be here with us. The boys definitely miss him.
I am getting all my ducks in a row to begin homeschooling in the fall. I have almost all of my curriculum and Aaron and I are getting really excited about setting up our homeschool room. We know that God is in this decision as everything has been falling into place. Other than that I am busy being mom and dad for awhile. I still say that women were not created to weed eat..LOL.
Now Aaron has some big news! Yesterday he lost his first tooth. He was of course super excited about that. I am putting pictures in here of him missing the tooth (bottom front) and of him holding it in his hand. Now he is trying to make the rest of them fall out.LOL
Logan is still being our boy! He is full of life and energy and NOISES. He runs me ragged but keeps me sane with his comedy.
I guess that is about all for this update. Things that you can pray for our family are safety for John and strength to endure away from the family. Also Aaron and I as we prepare for homeschool in August. Logan continued success in his speech. But probably most importantly wisdom and discernment on finding a new church home. Some of you already know that our wonderful church has had a division. The reasons are not important but God has decided to draw many of us (25 families) elsewhere. There are only 4 Reformed Baptist churches in our area so we are pretty limited. We also do not want to put God in a box. We will go wherever he leads us. Just please remember us as we search for the place God can use us to worship him, serve others and bring him the most glory.
** Side note: It is God ordained that every week that we have visited these churches a different missionary was there to speak. Not a coincidence I believe. We have spent a good bit of time discussing how we are being persecuted for submitting completely to the Word of God. Sometimes God taps us on the shoulder and sometimes he slaps us in the face. This was definitely the latter. We "American Christians" are so spoiled. We can see theological differences as persecution when across the globe people are still being martyred for their faith. It is a very humbling experience when God shuts your mouth about your "big" problems and opens instead your heart to the true persecution of others. I say all this to remind everyone that the church here in America as everywhere is made up of fallen depraved sinners saved by the Grace of the most Holy God. How easily do we get our feelings hurt when we do not get our way or when someone does not function the way we thing the church should. Next time you get the urge to go home from church on Sunday and have "roast church leaders" remember that you have the right to do that here. You still have a building to worship in and home to eat in. You have not had your children tortured for the sake of carrying a bible. When you look at your circumstances through the glasses of others circumstances, yours start to seem incredibly ridiculous!! The true bride of Christ is not brick and mortar and he will get the glory from this and all circumstances!
